Is there a right to ignore the state? Mimmo Forleo.
In a recent controversy concerning the dual benefits passed by the Provincial Council, Mario has contributed to the discussion through a few comments. One comment in particular caught my attention person sensitive to certain themes: that of individual freedom and suffering by compression of institutional power.
To introduce the question in the discussion of these powers was just Mario, who has spoken thus: "The state is composed of all of us ... one by one. And 'here ... that we should leave. "
Now, the point is this: we can be certain of being, "one by one, the state?
In this regard I have strong doubts that I will share with readers Palagiano.net, perhaps, from that sharing, some answers may venirmene able to dispel my doubts stood, or strengthen them.
I believe that the basis for a claim such as that of Mario there is a basic misunderstanding, the misunderstanding is generated by the confusion that usually lays between the government and state.
The Government is something we choose through a free electoral competition that makes us, through the exercise of voting, provided that a Contracting Party undertakes to respect all the decisions taken by majority vote.
But with regard to the state can support something like that?
To my knowledge has never been offered to anyone able to comment about its possible entry into a state framework, in simpler words, I've never seen a scene like this: someone who has a home and another that says: "We're putting on a Member, you join? This is the constitution we would have imagined, you are free to accept it as is, or to propose changes that will evaluate together ... Review in a few days to collect your opinion. "
Not being able to argue that no one steps into a state occurring in these terms, of course, is to drop the statement "The state is composed of all of us ...."
And also add the same government finds itself in a very precarious state of equilibrium, it goes without saying that its decisions should in theory apply only to those who went to the polls and only for the duration of a term. Those who have not participated in the vote have implicitly admitted that it was not interested in the issue.
This is what usually happens in life everyday, no one would dream of relying on general rules as the rules that a group of individuals had been given in order to form a circle. If the circle should apply the rule that smoking is prohibited, each of us would find very strange that the members of that club tried hard to prevent people from smoking in the street, or worse, in homes of those who have nothing to with the circle that share.
Yet, just as "normal" citizens who will certainly respond to the bizarre for anyone to impose their house rules that apply in his circle, find nothing, or very little to object when such behavior is adopted by the State. Why?
I have explained elsewhere that the state has historically imposed through a violent act, as a rule, the rule arises when you give growth of social complexity (growing number of people and the capacity to produce goods that exceed the amount necessary to ensure the mere survival of individuals) and is "exported" elsewhere (although she would never born) for the sole purpose of perpetuating the domination of some parasitic on other classes.
Incidentally, those who argue that the "class struggle" can be given within state borders or tell bales, as I most likely do not even know what I mean.
In that original act of violence and abuse were followed by the actual strategies to "legitimize" the state and make it seem necessary.
Nowadays, the continuous repetition of incidents aimed at extending the privileges of a few (like some politicians who want to reward through the establishment of double indemnity) or continuous acts of corruption that affect the state apparatus should push in the direction that makes common entire social body (especially those who pay the price of privilege that few will graciously grant) awareness of being part of a mechanism that causes distortions and injustices required. That mechanism is called State.
I await comments.
